Michael Been passed away of an apparent heart attack on August 19,2010. He was at the Pukkelpop Music Festival in Hasselt, Belgium. We have his son and family in our prayers. The Call's music will always live on.

March 2010

A new picture of Michael from a recent BRMC show in Minneapolis on March 27, 2010 has been added to the Photo section. Enjoy!

January 2010

The BRMC band's personal storage locker was broken into and Michael Been's had his vintage equipment stolen. Items were 1954 Fender Esquire (Yellow with Black Pick Guard), 1968 Ampeg Scrolltop Fretless Bass, 1964 Black Fender Precision Bass and a 1968 Gretsch Country Gentleman Single Cutaway. Please repost this and help spread the word - these items were extremely personal and the BRMC band, Michael, crew and management are devastated over this brazen act. Thank you.

This news was initially reported at the
BRMC website. You can contact me if you have any information and I will forward this along. Let us hope and pray that it is found and returned.

December 2009

Newly improved, higher quality videos for "Let The Day Begin", "Everywhere I Go" and "The Walls Came Down" have been added.
Click here. Also check out Another Hot Oklahoma Night here and a Billboard article on the making of the video "Everywhere I Go".

September 2009

See the video section for hard to find videos like the album versions of "Let The Day Begin", "Everywhere I Go" and "The Walls Came Down".
Click here. Also recently added were more Michael Been interviews from 1989 and 1991, additional album notes and reviews, and other assorted goodies like where Jim Goodwin is today and links to iTunes. Just look around!

2009- Simple Minds recently covered the Call's song "Let The Day Begin" on a bonus track CD that was released with their new album. Thus click accordingly to hear it. IMHO, it is not bad and pays tribute to the Call by staying close to the original version. Want the album?
